Halloween Mixes Are Back Up

Well well well, I’m FINALLY updating this blog after nearly a year!  I guess I should give a brief explanation detailing my disappearance.  To tell you the truth, I’ve fallen out of the whole "blog" thing rather quickly due to my experiences with other bloggers.  I really couldn’t stand the constant onslaught of self righteous "blog snobs" at every turn, and eventually I felt like a douche for even attempting to associate myself with that crowd.  Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve came into contact with alot of cool people with doing this blog, but sadly the majority of bloggers I’ve come across have been Grade A shitdicks.  It got to the point where I was tailoring my posts to appeal to this PG-rated, liberal blogger crowd and that didn’t sit well with me.  So from now on, I’ll just call this a web site and not a blog.  Fuck it.

Anyway, it’s October again and that means it’s my favorite time of year:  Halloween!  Last year I put up 3 of my Halloween mix tapes, which have been down for sometime.  Well I thought that it’d be the perfect time to put them back up.  Check out my previous posts below that detail the track listings and descriptions of each volume, and read on to download them for yourself.

Halloween Mix Volume 3

Here it is, the final installment of my Halloween mix: A Spooky, Rockin’, Surfin’, Halloween Extravaganza Volume 3!  I hope everyone’s October is going well, and hopefully you had the opportunity to check out any of these mixes.  In my opinion this one is the best out of the three as the editing is cleaner, the songs are more focused, and it once again brings those ghoulish punk, surf, and rock tunes.  This continues the trend of ending the album with a Type O Negative song, and you’ll also see some familiar names returning as well.

Halloween Mix Volume 2

Up next is the second set of ghoulish songs for you to play during Halloween!  This mix was made last year, and its title is A Spooky, Rockin’, Surfin’ Halloween Extravaganza Volume 2.  It’s kinda like a bad sequel to an already awful B-movie.  You know it’s going to be a train wreck, but you have to experience it anyway!  In all actuality however, this mix is edited much better than the first.  The skits in between each track reflect the upcoming track far better in my opinion.  This mix also ends with a Type O Negative track, which has become a bit of a tradition in making these mixes.  I hope you enjoy this one, as very few people have heard it aside from myself!  Read on for the tracklisting:

It’s officially Fall.  The leaves are turning, the air is getting cold, and your probably breaking out your hoodie while waving goodbye to your biking shorts till next year (you homo).   Even if the good times of summer have drawn to a close, there’s always one thing to look forward to in the Fall days: Halloween!  It’s my favorite holiday by far, and what better way to celebrate it than to watch some good old horror flicks and listen to some spooky music.  For the past three years, I’ve been making Halloween CD’s that help me get into the spirit and this year is no different.  So to celebrate this October, Miscellaneous Garbage brings to you Volume 1 of 3 horrifyingly rocking mixes to get your spooky groove on!  Read on for more information:

HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue

For this post, I’m going to take a break from my oddball antics and bring to your attention a cause that I think is important.  I’ve always loved animals, and I’m particularly fond of bulldogs.  There’s just a certain kindness that comes from those monsters that you can’t get from any other dog.  That’s why I think you should support HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue.  HeavenSent is a non-profit organization based in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that prides itself on rescuing bulldogs.  They function primarily on donations and they need your help to rescue dogs in need.  So if you can, send a donation to these folks and show your love for animals!

Also, keep a look out sometime this week for another beer review.  The good folks at Flying Dog Brewery sent me a few samples that I’m dying to try.

GWAR Concert In Pittsburgh: May 27th, 2008

A few hours I attended a concert from the legendary metal band GWAR.  For those that aren’t familiar with GWAR, they’re a heavy metal group that combines over the top theatrics, controversial lyrical content, and a clever mix of political and social satire.  If you want more information on those guys, check out their website.

Anyway, a typical GWAR concert involves the "deaths" of several popular figures, including George W. Bush and the Pope.  From here, fake blood (among other substances) is spewed all over the crowd while paired with a soundtrack often filled with death and destruction.  For those who "get it", it’s a mix of the darkest of dark comedy and entertainment, and quite frankly is an awesome concert.  This is my second time seeing GWAR in concert, and here are some videos from the show:

Kurt Angle Has Lost His Mind

I’ve been a casual fan of Mixed Martial Arts for a good while, and a fan of Professional Wrestling for as long as I can remember.  Although my interest in both has significantly dwindled over the past couple of years, I still like to check on various wrestling rumor sites every once in awhile.  For a few years, amateur-turned-pro wrestler Kurt Angle was arguably the best pro wrestler on the planet both in the ring and on the microphone.  From 1999 – 2006, Kurt Angle had wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment nearly non-stop, and it seemed that there was no end to his great performances.  However, in August of 2006 Kurt Angle would jump ship from WWE to the much smaller Total Nonstop Action promotion, and it seems that at this point, Kurt Angle lost his fucking mind.  Let’s take a look at this amazing performer, and his recent incidents of him going off the deep end:

The Worst Ways To Market a Horror Movie Featuring Prom Night 2008

Recently there has been some buzz over the new "horror" film, Prom Night which I’m guessing is hitting theaters soon.  This film is intended to be a remake of the classic 1980’s slasher of the same name starring Jamie Lee Curtis, yet appears to only bear resemblance to the original in name only.  I happened stumble across the trailer to this PG-13 film (I just love modern day PG-13 horror films, let me tell you) and what I saw quite frankly confused me.  Was this a feel-good teen drama about prom, or was it another not-so-scary horror film with a girl cowering in fear from a mysterious villain?

Quite frankly, I didn’t know what this film was aiming for.  However, little did I know that this streak of confusion was to continue as I explored the other ways that Sony Pictures was trying to market this shit-fest.  Here is by far some of the worst promotion for a "horror" movie that I’ve ever seen.  Let’s start with the trailer:
