For this post, I’m going to take a break from my oddball antics and bring to your attention a cause that I think is important. I’ve always loved animals, and I’m particularly fond of bulldogs. There’s just a certain kindness that comes from those monsters that you can’t get from any other dog. That’s why I think you should support HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue. HeavenSent is a non-profit organization based in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that prides itself on rescuing bulldogs. They function primarily on donations and they need your help to rescue dogs in need. So if you can, send a donation to these folks and show your love for animals!
Also, keep a look out sometime this week for another beer review. The good folks at Flying Dog Brewery sent me a few samples that I’m dying to try.
A few hours I attended a concert from the legendary metal band GWAR. For those that aren’t familiar with GWAR, they’re a heavy metal group that combines over the top theatrics, controversial lyrical content, and a clever mix of political and social satire. If you want more information on those guys, check out their website.
Anyway, a typical GWAR concert involves the "deaths" of several popular figures, including George W. Bush and the Pope. From here, fake blood (among other substances) is spewed all over the crowd while paired with a soundtrack often filled with death and destruction. For those who "get it", it’s a mix of the darkest of dark comedy and entertainment, and quite frankly is an awesome concert. This is my second time seeing GWAR in concert, and here are some videos from the show:
I’ve been a casual fan of Mixed Martial Arts for a good while, and a fan of Professional Wrestling for as long as I can remember. Although my interest in both has significantly dwindled over the past couple of years, I still like to check on various wrestling rumor sites every once in awhile. For a few years, amateur-turned-pro wrestler Kurt Angle was arguably the best pro wrestler on the planet both in the ring and on the microphone. From 1999 - 2006, Kurt Angle had wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment nearly non-stop, and it seemed that there was no end to his great performances. However, in August of 2006 Kurt Angle would jump ship from WWE to the much smaller Total Nonstop Action promotion, and it seems that at this point, Kurt Angle lost his fucking mind. Let’s take a look at this amazing performer, and his recent incidents of him going off the deep end:
Recently there has been some buzz over the new "horror" film, Prom Night which I’m guessing is hitting theaters soon. This film is intended to be a remake of the classic 1980’s slasher of the same name starring Jamie Lee Curtis, yet appears to only bear resemblance to the original in name only. I happened stumble across the trailer to this PG-13 film (I just love modern day PG-13 horror films, let me tell you) and what I saw quite frankly confused me. Was this a feel-good teen drama about prom, or was it another not-so-scary horror film with a girl cowering in fear from a mysterious villain?
Quite frankly, I didn’t know what this film was aiming for. However, little did I know that this streak of confusion was to continue as I explored the other ways that Sony Pictures was trying to market this shit-fest. Here is by far some of the worst promotion for a "horror" movie that I’ve ever seen. Let’s start with the trailer:
Well, I probably should have added this to my last post, but I guess I forgot. Anyway, here are those lovely ladies that I mentioned in my previous post in all their glory via Youtube videos:
When most people think of beautiful women in the music industry, such names as Beyonce, Shakira, and Jessica Simpson often come to mind. While I doubt there’s anyone out there that disagrees with the fact that these ladies are insanely hot, there are a few women in the music industry who are often over looked in the hotness department. This may be attributed to the fact that these ladies don’t quite have the album sales in the United States as those last three I mentioned. None the less, I’m writing this post to point out that there are a few women in music who are hot in their own ways (I think there’s different classifications of hotness), but are often overlooked by the media. Read on to find out who these hotties are:

You’ve probably noticed already that I like to watch a lot of movies and review them. Often times though, movie reviewers will leave out one of the most critical facts that pertains to all of their reviews which is what type of setup they have. Since I like to speak about DVD quality and sound, it should be only fair that I share my current home theater setup with the readers of this site. So let me present to you, my home theater setup through a series of pictures and explanations.
Recently, a video has popped up on the internet showing a Baltimore cop assaulting, harassing, and belittling a 14 year boy for riding a skateboard and calling him "dude". Upon watching this video, I was sickened by the officer’s actions, and perhaps even more sickened by the fact that this fiasco got him suspended WITH pay. A slap on the wrist for slapping around a minor sounds really fair, let me tell ya. Anyway, this isn’t the first time skateboarders have been harassed by police officers while on video. Luckily with the invention of Youtube we can see authority figures with anger issues push around young kids riding pieces of wood to their very hearts content!
I should preface this by saying that I’m not a skateboarder of any kind. I’ve never tried to skateboard, nor do I want to, and I don’t associate myself with that culture. Remember you were a kid and you took your bike everywhere with your buddies? I don’t really recall cops kicking your ass for doing that. I guess it’s just a different day and age, but I digress. Let me present to you my "favorite" displays of cops (or security guards/rent-a-cops) punking out kids for skateboarding with actual retarded Youtube comments!
So I was browsing one of the message boards I post on yesterday, and I came across a post about a guy showing off his new tattoo. Keep in mind that threads like this pop up from time to time with guys showing off their ink, and some tattoo work is alot better than others. For instance, there was on guy proudly displaying his Dimebag Darrell tattoo, however it looked like more like a Mexican dishwasher than the guitar legend. However, there are times when tattoo’s go above and beyond the normal realm of "what in the bloody hell where they thinking", and this my friends is one of those times. Behold, the white guy from South Florida with the word "Hyphy" tattooed on his lip:
Horror movies have always been known to take real-life situations where people are vulnerable and turn them into something scary. Playing on people’s natural fears is proven way to make people scared, and its become the basis to nearly every horror film since the shower scene in Psycho. Whether its people shitting bricks when thinking about swimming in the ocean due to Jaws, or kids afraid to fall asleep because of Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, you can’t deny cinema’s power to take ordinary situations and turn them into something terrifying. However, there are times when horror movies are stretching things just a bit to make movie-goers uncomfortable. Let’s explore some movies that take seemingly normal situations in life, and turning them into something INSANELY TERRIFYING! (and most of the time failing miserably):
